Putting holistic safeguarding into practice when hiring staff.

To be a child safe organisation requires a holistic approach to safeguarding. You may have some clear policies and guidelines but it is the safeguarding culture within your organisation that determines whether those tools are applied.

We are pleased to have another forum with Kim Dickinson, who helped us develop our OSCAR Safeguarding courses. This conversation is about child-focused recruitment and Kim is a leader in this field.

For any OSCAR service there is risk that unsuitable people will seek employment with you. We will talk through the process of recruitment, selection and onboarding to ensure you aren’t unwittingly “holding the door open” for unsafe people. This session will also serve as an introduction to the on-line Safer Recruitment course, where the topic is covered in more depth.
